Re: Disscuss: Door Glass repplacement (93-97)

Great write up.

I think this applies to 1998 and newer Rangers as I did this with my '00 and it looks exactly the same.

FYI, rather than rivet in my new glass, I use 1/4 inch threaded bolts and...

Re: How to: Door Glass window replacement (93-97)

This is definitely the way to do it. I have done this and never broken any glass. The first time you try it, you think that hammering the punch will surely break the window. But the center will...

Joey, be sure to get an alignment after doing all the ball joints or you may get shaking from that. Sounds like with the ball joints so worn out, it probably was not holding a good alignment. Also...

Re: Unusual shaking and can't figure it out

[QUOTE=dented95ranger;1522441]I would go back to the tire place and tell them to re-balance them. Most of the time they will do a bad job and get the tires off by a smidgen of a degree which will...

Sounds like you have been pretty thorough in your trouble shooting.

One of the things you might want to check the tires. I had a similar thing happen and it turned out to be a bad tire that could...

Re: Unusual shaking and can't figure it out

Did you notice if the shuddering only happens at a certain speed? If it is speed related, it is definitely something related to the drivetrain (u-joint, axle, wheel bearing). If it is a specific...

Re: Help me decide about a head-unit

I usually buy my electronics from Sonic Electronix. Fast shipping and they provide the install kits free. They are authorized retailers for most of the major brands.

Re: HOW-TO: Replace ignition and door locks cylinders

I am not sure on a 94, but I think you have to take off the plastic covering around the steering column. Once you take it off, you will see the access tube at about the 8 o'clock position (when...

Re: Completed cluster swap issues

I had sort of the same issue when I did a swap to get the tach in my 2.5L, except it was my gas guage that was not working. Couple of things I found out:

Both the gas and temp gauge are on the...

Okay, just as a data point. Drove approx 500 (San Diego to San Francisco) unmodded. approx 600lb load, averaging 75 mph, I got 21.4 mpg. I did the mod in San Fran and on the way back with about...

You never mentioned what kind of new radio you have. Some have their own fuse built into the radio. To test the radio, the black wire goes to ground and the red (switched power) and yellow (constant...

Re: Subs in the jump seat storage holes?

Just as a thought, some Rangers came with a pull out cover that goes over the back section of the extended cab. Mine does not have it, but the trim panel (where the front seatbelts retract into) has...

Re: Radio power wiring

+1 on Fuses. It may sound simple, but always check them. There is also the possibility that you accidently blew one while wiring the stereo if you did not disconnect the battery.

Re: How To: Dual ignition Plug mod (Dual plug 2.3/2.5L only)

Just came across this mod - I was actually trying to look up some replacement spark plug wires.

Anyway, I am about to take a long trip to deliver my daughter to college (and all of her stuff). So...

Re: Upper control arms and Lower Ball joints - 98-00/01+ 4x4. 2WD Also.

Great write-up! Just installed these this past weekend. I am sure the neighbors loved to hear me pounding away trying to get my lower BJ removed and installed. I ended up having to use a RBFH...

Re: Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) Switch Flashing air bag light 2-7

I love this forum. My light just started to flash and I thought I would need to have the airbag system looked at. This just saved me a ton of $$$$ from going to the dealer!

Re: What are these two wires and what happens when you connect them?

The relay acts as a switch. So when you turn on your headlights, it sends power to the relay, which then turns on power to your LEDs. That way, you do not have to have them powered all the time and...
