Because most Ford ignitions are "WASTE" and also fire on the exhaust stroke, this "mod" does not change anything. That is why you will get flamed if you try to embrace or promote this bogus "mod".

On my 97 Ranger I pulled fuse number 27 and no more ding, dome light and ajar indicator. With that went the glove box light and some other insignificant stuff.

There is a Technical Service Bulletin about this issue and the cause is the spot welds on the heatshield over the cat break. I had this problem when my 97 was under warranty and they put BIG hose...
