Mine starts just fine with the plate. I just did a auto to manual swap and had the high rev problem...did the plate mod and it corrected it. Wife's now driving that truck as a daily driver and loves...

Take your iac off and use the old gasket as a template and cut it out off a piece of thin still, then drill out the holes. For the small hole I used a 9/32 drill bit.

Holy shit...this mod works great...anyone that has hanging high rpms when shifting up or down needs to do this mod...I got it off a mustang forum but works great on my 97 3.0

Since I did my Auto to Manual swap last week I've been having problems with high hanging rpms when I shift up and down so today I'm going to try the IAC restrictor plate mod.

mines been doing it over 7 years since I got the truck....maybe topped the coolant of a dozen times if that....I think if was a head gasket it would have failed a long time ago?

Ok so I ran all combinations of the wire on the dtr block possible and it still would not fire up....so I ran the light blue/ red wire from the ignition down to the light blue/ red wire at the dtr...

Still can't get it started on the key...I've looked under the dash for the clutch switch harness and so far been unable to find it. The 12 pin plug on the Auto harness down by the transmission does...

I can fire her up jumping the solinoid and drove it around the yard...drives great and shifts fine...now just have to figure out wiring so I can start her on the key.

All I have to do is install the clutch master cylinder and put the dash back together and should be all ready to fire her up for a test drive.
