Thanks to all for the input. I took them out and did some cleaning and greasing. The lower ones were starting to corrode. Will probably pull Em apart in a couple weeks to reclean or replace the pins...

Well, fireranger was right, alternator was crapping out. Got a remanufactured alt for a 97 explorer to get the 135 amp. No more dimming headlights or squeeking noises.
