Re: body lift on rusted truck?

I just pulled my bed off to put on a flatbed. The truck has 227k+ miles on it, and the front support on the bed, and the front of the floor were GONE.

I used a 6ft section of exhaust pipe for...

Re: certain people shouldnt have trucks...

I know/knew a kid with an 80-something f250. One day, a buddy of mine and myself were talking about our trucks, and he comes up and starts talking.

We egged him on, and finally got the following...

Why can't I use 13120 Pro Comp AAL? 2003 2wd

I've been looking at different options to bring the back of my old ranger up 2" or so. I've found springs listed to fit all years of ranger, or just 1986-2003, some for just 2002-2003, and some for...

Re: Anbody else's oil pressure gauge freak out with low oil levels?

I heard that about it basically being an idiot light with a needle. Is there any way to convert it to an actual graduated gauge?

I'd like to know about it if my oil pressure is 9psi too, you know...

Anbody else's oil pressure gauge freak out with low oil levels?

Long story short, I didn't torque down my oil drain plug and lost all my oil. It's fine. I caught it before anything bit the dust.

But my gauge is confusing me. Instead of showing low oil...

Re: Could a Ranger tow the Endeavor?

Some of those kinetic recovery straps would help. I think an automatic and 4-low would do it.

3.0 bucks when cold outside sometimes

My 2003 ranger has a strange little issue. Its a 3.0 2wd 5 speed with 221,xxx miles. Just had the cam sync done with the OEM Ford part last year.

The problem is that when its below about 20...

Re: Wheel spacers good or bad idea?

I DO have spacers, and I DON'T like them. Although, this is on a VW beetle, not a ranger. They are actually 4-lug bolt to 5-stud adapters, but add about 0.75 inch of spacing. They don't actually...

Re: RPM Red Line?

This one time, the door somehow came open on the trailer of the semi in front of me, so I passed him in a hurry, and wasn't really paying attention to my tach when i passed him. I was going about...

Re: Someone keyed my effin truck!

Like a week after I painted my dodge, I was delivering mulch for a guy, and his dog ran up and jumped on my door, leaving four nice 20-inch long gouges in the driver's door. Beautiful.

Since my...

What years was the 4cyl-manual-4x4 combo available?

Like the title says, at what points in time could you buy a 4 cylinder 4x4 with a manual transmission? The newest I've seen was mid-early 90s.

I kind of want to get a beater truck, or a...

Re: How should Air-con function at partial charge?

It was low port, 90 degrees, truck was hot, fairly low humidity. I don't see how over pressurization is plausible unless there are other issues afoot. I put one can in from what i believe was...

How should Air-con function at partial charge?

I went to charge my AC today. It had slowly went dead over the course of several years, so I assumed a slow leak.

I went to fill the system, and saw that my clutch wasn't kicking in, so I went to...

Re: No Muffler FTW!

Because it is illegal to tamper with an emissions system, but especially considering it doesn't do anything at all on a 20 year old truck that doesn't pass emissions testing in the first place,...

Only if it's illegally made by a little old Italian lady for commercial purposes with no DOA/FDA clearance.

Crankcase breather tube I think. If they have anything at a local store that will fit, you can put an aftermarket breather that dumps into the atmosphere instead of into your intake. Then seal the...

Re: Best motor Fords ever made!!

That truck would sell for twice that in the rust belt, provided its not knocking itself to death or something.

Re: paint job

Paint is paint. It will all be the same if its a similar kind of paint (acrylic, alkyd, etc.), though you can't really wax flat paint of any color unless you want it to be really hazy and cloudy...

Re: should it be totaled?

I think the safest way to get rid of it (if thats what you want to do) is fix it and sell it. You say it has other problems. Who knows what they'll give you to total it. Also, you have to make sure...

Re: YET another MPG thread, LOL

My 3.0 gets 22 in mixed 25/75% city/45mph hilly backroad driving. It poops all over my old 2.3 in terms of power, but actually gets 1mpg better gas mileage. I don't think the 3.0 is all that bad. It...

Re: paint job

Not if you don't prep it like you were doing a standard gloss paintjob. I'm not sure if I understand the question. Flat black is flat black. It doesn't change anything but the color. Lol. But . . ....
