I'm also having a similar problem but only when my engine gets hot. Get a knocking when trying to get power from it at low rpms, if you rev it up past 3,500 rpm no knocking. Its a old '94 4.0 ranger...

I suppose its "stock", the truck is running fine now. Seems that the worst thing for a vehicle is for it just to sit there. Cleaned out some dirty sensors and all is good.

Well I did the sea foam thing and it started to run better, did another mpg test and Im getting about 12 mpg also. I'm just going to leave it like that for awhile.

My 1994 4.0L Ranger is only getting 8 mpg in the city. I've changed the oils, filters, spark plugs, and filled up the tires. I think something is bad in it or just old and needs to be replaced.

But looks like one of the sensors is bad going to go to autozone tomorrow and get them to check the computer for errors.
