Thanks. as far as engine goes in 80 and 81 they went to the 255 v8 in place of the 302. both of these cars are 255's with auto's. not my choice of drivetrain, but what they were built with. both cars...

finally took my ranger into my buddies shop. he smoke tested it to find the leak. turned out there was a hose loose on top of the tank. wasn't there when he did it so i don't know exactly which hose....

was looking at all data at work today and did see that for some of the evap emission small leak codes there were some tsb's. The tsb's were for fuel cap, filler neck, and filler hose i believe....
