Yes it helps for a bit but quickly comes back. I was told you really never should need belt dressing if all components working properly.

Do I need to remove anything besides the belt to remove it? My fan is almost on top of it so hard to get a socket wrench in there.

My tensioner is spring loaded. Thats how you remove the fan belt via the tensioner. I think the spring in shot in the tensioner so was going to swap the entire tensioner and get new belt.
