Re: Rusted Frame 1999 Ranger xlt

It's hard to believe that the frame could be that bad and the body is like new. Sounds like someone is trying to scam you on the inspection. Surface rust on a frame is normal and does not weaken...

Re: anybody else ever had this problem?

Could also be the Throttle position sensor. If it is worn, it can make the tranny shift up and down at some speeds. It can be easily checked with an ohmeter.

Re: Can my ranger handle it?

My 89 with 2.9, 4x4 auto s/cab towed my 22 foot pontoon boat over 200 miles with no problem at all. Those boats are not all that heavy. Of course, as previously stated, keep it out of O/D. By all...

Re: Brake lights are not working?

You have an open circuit between your brake light switch and the shift lever interlock. The interlock must get a signal from the brake lights to unlock the shifter when the engine is running. When...

Re: Rotor Question

Before installing new rotors, the hubs should be checked for run-out with a dial gauge. There should be very little run-out on the face of the hub that the rotor sits against. The face should be...

My 99 and 2010, both 4.0 l engines, run just under the 1/2 way on the temp gauge after about 5 minutes on the road from a cold start.

Re: HOW TO: Replace Rear Pinion Seal

There is always a certain amount of "run-out" on the diff flange and on the driveshaft flange. They measure this at the factory and install the driveshaft so that the run out is opposite to the run...

Re: 1993 Ranger No Heat issue

Try another brand of T-stat. You can't get heat out of the heater if there is no heat in the engine. When they make one bad stat they probably make a thousand.
