Primer is porous and it'll absorb moisture. If I were you I'd paint it. If you like the primer look then paint it with a flat grey/black color or whatever color primer you have.

When I did mine I took a sawzall to the metal. Cut it flush with the edge of the seat and wrapped the fabric over the edge. Trimmed any excess fabric.

^^ ps pumps on the rangers are super noisy. Search and you'll find stories of people replacing the ps pump with a new one or reman and it makes more noise than before. Just a crappy design

Sometimes you can get away without needing to adjust it to get the drum off. The older the shoes the more likely they have worn deeper into the metal of the drum creating a lip that prevents them...
