Re: 89 to 88 door swap

Yes, the doors will fit, but the interior door panels are a different style. Most people don't mind that though.

Re: What is the best way to clean cloth seats?

When I installed 2004 seats in my 2001, before putting them in I steam cleaned them one section at a time. We put a little bit of upholstery cleaner in the water too. The steam cleaning did an...

Re: Rear Fender Rust Repair

You're gonna find out that rust always goes much further than you think it does. For instance, a rust pinhole, to get back to good metal that's acceptable to weld new panels to, the rusty metal will...

Re: Should I buy this?

The timing chain issues go past 2001 in Rangers. 2006 is considered the first year for the improved timing chain tensioners and guides in the Ranger. It's largely how hard you drive it though.

Re: Nicks 5.0 ranger build

With just GT40 parts and some roller rockers, you're not making enough torque to kill a T5Z that's in good condition and built right. As long as you're not doing clutch drops at 3500rpm on a sticky...

Re: 92 ranger 5.0 swap

The T5 never came in the F150. They did come in the Mustangs though.

The M5OD came in the F150 trucks, and lots of people use those for their V8 swaps, but they do shift more like a big truck...

Re: Rear hub oil seal

The rear axle cannot be a sealed unit. It has to have a bolt on cover.

Re: 1988 Ford Ranger 2wd Spindles needed

Your best bet will be those local junkyards. Shipping a pair of spindles will be pretty expensive, and there's no way to tell for sure that they're not worn also. Spindles for that year are a wear...

Re: Rps

Ranger Power Sports forum, but it's dead now. No one is making any brake caliper adapters anymore either. I checked with everyone I could find in the last few months.

In the end I had to make my...

Re: 92 ranger 5.0 swap

If it originally bolted behind a 302 or a 289 then it "should" work, but it will definitely be a heavy boat anchor. You'll probably have to use an external slave cylinder. I think some guys run an...

Re: What do you use to keep your truck smelling good?

I've found a lady on Ebay that makes any custom scent you want. I just put some of the oil on an old sponge and place it under the seat. It lasts for quite some time. Lately I've been using "Fruity...

Re: Rear diff drive flange removal/reinstallation

If you remove the pinion flange, you might as well replace the seal, but if it's high mileage, it may have a groove worn in to the pinion flange sealing surface.

As for torquing it back to spec,...

Re: Is there anyway to stop pinion seal leak for good?

When you put the driveshaft flange on to the pinion splines, don't forget to cover those splines with RTV sealer. That's a common mistake that people make and is often the source of a leak.

With...

Re: Fuel pump issue.

I'd be getting a gauge and checking the fuel pressure at the rails. See how long it will hold pressure once turned off.

You could also have a leak at the pump to hanger connection inside the tank....

Re: Cross Rotation Tires

I never cross rotate tires. I've seen too many tires with slipped belts so I do anything I can to avoid it. In my mind, reversing the rotation of a tire is asking for trouble, especially if you ever...

You need much more than that. It's an entire system that requires a wiring harness, various under-hood components, etc.

There are aftermarket units you can install quite easily though.

Re: Solid axles??

Search the forum and Google. There are thousands of posts on it.

There are several Ranger forums, and some even have sections dedicated to the SAS.
