Re: Have a misfire, can't figure it out.

The shutter was like a rapid misfire. Almost like it was running on 3 instead of 6 cylinders. As it got worse, It was a dead miss in 1 cylinder. Not a shutter(vibration?), but a slower, more...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread II

Today, I replaced the plugs because the Autolights turned out to be garbage. Motorcraft all the way. I knew better.

2 weeks ago, I put some new shoes on her. I didn't have a grand to blow and...

Re: Have a misfire, can't figure it out.

Sorry I haven't got back sooner. Had some time to jack with it today. All I can say is,"Damn Autolite spark plugs!" Pulled the #6 plug again and tested it on a quad. Weird spark. Looked at it closer...

Re: Have a misfire, can't figure it out.

No. All from autozone. No motocraft parts. I also pulled the plug from the #6 cylinder. It's clean.

Re: Have a misfire, can't figure it out.

No. That would have cost more than the truck is worth. Most of the parts are lifetime warranty.

Have a misfire, can't figure it out.

A little history: A little over a year ago, I bought this truck and it was a basket case. I have replaced MAF, IAC, TPS, all O2's, plugs, wires, fuel filter, and fuel cap. I didn't want it giving me...

Re: Decals on rear slider window?

I don't have any issues, but my weatherstripping is shot. Sad thing is, I can't seem to find a replacement. Guess I'll have to save up some loot and buy a whole window unit...

Re: New Ranger may be absent in U.S. but others are releasing new small trucks

What blows my mind to this day is why on earth Ford made such a boneheaded decision to discontinue the Ranger in the U.S. I understand the Pushing the F-150 issue, but why not give the consumers some...

Re: power steering pump?

I heard about the aftermarket junk. Louder than a worn out stock unit. I'm going to try and get some numbers or head to a JY and see about pulling one from an Expo. It drives me nuts, hearing that...

Re: What will your next vehicle be?

I'll more than likely keep the Ranger until it falls apart. Already putting money aside for a new motor, tranny, TC, and diffs. Sounds dumb, but I can restore this truck for pennies on the dollar...

Re: power steering pump?

Out of curiosity, would it be hard to pull one off of an explorer and fit it on a ranger? Seems like they'd be similar. Every one I see driving through parking lots are silent. No threadjack intended.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread

The amp is under the passenger seat. I still have to make a couple of stand offs for it so it'll sit level and give it some airflow under it. I doubt it'll ever get hot enough, but I can't stand to...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread

I finished building and installing my enclosure for a 10" sub. I pressed in a couple of bearings in trade for the sub(new, never opened). I originally intended to cover the box with gray automotive...

Re: Broke out the Q-tips!

ummmmm....... good...job....
I don't have the patience. I drive every time I can with my windows down and it'll just get dusty faster than it took to clean it.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread

Went playing in the woods and got it dirty.

Went to Tillamook State Forest with the kids for a little trail fun.

They wanted me to drive the truck up there and get a pic....

Re: Rack and pinion problem?

From what I understand, you'll need to turn the wheel lock to lock several times to get all the air out. You should be fine after that.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread

Replaced the lower ball joints. Uppers were fine and I didn't have the loot to get Moog uppers and lowers. Autozone just to get by. At least I got rid of that damn squeaking and popping when I turn...

Re: gas prices

$4.15 at the moment. They're saying the Northwest region could see .10-.35/gal. rise this weekend. Their excuse is the same. Refineries not producing at 100%....increased demand due to holiday...

Re: What do you have? Auto or Manual Transmission?

Enjoying my auto in rush hour traffic. Still wish it was manual, though. It's just what I'm accustomed to.

Re: Beating the dead horse, but asking for help with MPG anyways

I had an O2 go bad. I just replaced all of them so I wouldn't have to go under there for the others at a later date. I also replaced the TPS and IAC as they are fairly cheap. Make sure your MAF is...
