Well i was working on my truck a ranger
and on the door it says its an 88 on my insurace card it says 88 on my title an 88 but under the hood on the far right it says Ford (logo) 1986

Just replace mine last Saturday i think its the same sensor but i used a vise grips
dont do this unless someone backs me up.
Are you talking about the Sensor in the side of the block?

Hey I have a 88 ranger xlt 2 wheel drive auto on the floor
and im switching it to stick what trans will work?
and will a 4 wheel drive trans work in a two wheel if i dont hook up the transfer case?...

what dose a vacum modulator or transmisson modulator do and would it have to do with my shifting? because i have trouble getting into second gear

88 Ranger shifting problem
Hey guys i have a Auto. 88 ranger xlt regular cab 2.9L.
i changed the fluid and put a new filter in the trans.
The problem is it wont shift unless i step on the gas hard and run it up to about 3000...
