Like almost everyone, I'm hunting for better gas mileage. In the past month, relatively warm for winter, my 2.5 has been giving 20MPG in daily, stop and go driving. My 3.0 used to do about the same...

I finally got a reader and, with the engine cold, it shows "no codes". I now find that the oil pressure gauge has no reading until the CheckEngineLight goes out.... must be a bad connection.

Model A,
By the time I get to a reader, the engine is warm and the reader shows -0- for codes. Am I wrong to suspect that the 02 sensor is likely to be failing?

2001 2.5 Check Engine Light
I just bought my Ranger; a 2.5 XL with automatic. My Check engine light stays on until the engine reaches operating temp. Is this a problem or is this normal for the system?
