Its just as well Rangers look good dirty but put on a good paint sealant and the dirt will rinse off easy ;)

The compound of some brake pads are very soft, don`t last long and make a lot of dust.
Clean the wheels properly and coat with a body sealant, Wolfgang, Zaino etc or a dedicated wheel sealant like...

One of the modern sealants should stop it...
One of the modern sealants should stop it oxidising again for longer than that.
Something like Optimum Opti Seal is quick and easy.

It looks in good nick, just oxidised like most reds go.
I`d try a few different polishes/compounds if it was mine

I had the same on a Toyota hilux, I put it down...
I had the same on a Toyota hilux, I put it down to axle wind up and reversing a bit used to help it out of 4wd.
It was made worse by a nearly empty rear back axle caused by a leaking pinion oil seal.
