Re: Loud Squeak at 3.5k RPMs?

After checking everything as suggested above, I found that a Goodyear Gatorback belt solved problem on wife's Taurus Vulcan (new cheapy belt just kept squeaking).
Think they were bought by a...

Re: Financially too deep on my 2002 XLT 2wd Standard cab

Geez---doesn't make sense. If the HHR bothered your neck and back, then what are you doing with a mini-cooper even as a passenger?

At some point, sometimes people have to go to the dealership or a...

Re: X-CAB rangers, do the doors open out?

Guess I don't understand the post. If the x-cab has 2 or 4 doors, they all open out, cause they sure as hell ain't opening inwards. If the x-cab only has 2 doors, then there are no back doors to open...

Smile Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread

Due to rotator cuff problems on my shoulder, I hate a seat belt tight and grinding against my body. Years ago, I got some spring clamps like you use to hold a stack of papers together (probably $1)....

Re: Computer Problem with TPMS System?

Dang--guess I should be happy I don't have TPMS. Bought the most basic Ranger I could.

Re: oil change fu#k up

Never forgot the drain plug, but had a 79 Ranchero that the oil filter gasket stuck and when started up to check leaked a little oil out the filter. Figured it out pretty quick and learned ever after...

Success!

July 2015--got the recall on passenger airbag--said they would notify me when parts were in. January 2016--got the notice passenger airbag parts were in, and 2 days later got the recall for the...

Re: Vulcan engine cuts out at specific rpm under load

I won't be of any help. Don't think I've ever hit 3700 rpm.

Red face Re: Idling a bit rough

Hey---that's a cheap shot--plus we don't know if you're talking about the Vulcan or Duratec. Wife's 2002 Taurus Vulcan has 100k miles, and nary a problem. My 2006 Ranger Vulcan has 77,000 miles and...

Re: Price for a transmission

We don't need no 'stinkin' transmissions---just cut a big hole in the floorboard and use your feet!

Re: Tutorial - Installing Jump Seats

Great write up as mentioned. It's been 3 years--be interested in how many times the OP has used them. Mine came with them, and after 4 1/2 years, I've used 1 seat 1 time.

Re: Power steering whine, new ps pump

I think the 'help' guys on this forum would want to know what brand pump you installed and what PS fluid you used.

Re: weird brake issue

Guess I'm no help because I've never used the emergency brake to stop the vehicle--I've only used the emergency brake to keep the vehicle from moving!

I'm not smart enough to help, but what happened with James or taking it to the dealership in the last 5 months?

Re: To Buy or Not to buy

Thread started in August, 2015. Wonder if he bought the truck or not, and if he's had to make any repairs in the last year?

Re: Truck Very Slow

I think you should find somebody with another Ranger like yours (3.0L and close to same year). Then ride in it or drive it and see how yours matches up. If your truck is a lot slower, then it's on to...

Re: Reason why you should have a truck, ranger

Well, this thread was started in 2012. So did the OP's friend get the Ranger or is he still driving the Honda? (like any of us really give a sh!t).

Re: Is this a good deal, not trying to buy a lemon again

Guess I just love to rant on dealer pictures: Thanks for taking all the pictures on a gray-rainy day, and shooting everything from the top down so we can't tell if there's rust starting around the...

Re: I asked the shop to put my tires with the Label facing inward!!!!

Exact opposite happened to me, and it was my fault because I forgot to specify. Wanted white letters out but old tires were mounted with white in, so that's the way they did the new tires. Didn't...

Re: Sticker on glass wont go away

Guess you learn something new every day. Would never have thought about using an SOS steel wool pad on a windshield--would think it would look like 'scratch' city.

Re: Cabin air filter?

Heck--that's one of the reasons I bought the truck--no cabin air filter. Wife's 2002 Taurus has one and they're expensive and a big pain to replace. I'm old school, and back in the day when you...
