Angry Tach & 4x switch issues....

My son's 92 (4.0, 4x4, 5spd, manual hubs) has a problem with the tach and the electric switch for 4x hi and low. If the switch went bad would it still be lit? Would it affect the tach too? He's 1700...

Strip the shroud off the column and pull the lock, you're gonna have to, to get it re-keyed anyway. It's locked in park 'cause of the ignition switch. It has to unlock before it will get out of park.

You have the self adjusters on that? Maybe some issue with those. They are designed to work when you back up and apply the brake but maybe yours is grabbing too much?
