I'm still working out all the kinks. I found a thread on another forum that pretty much has a play by play of what this guy did. He explains how he got around the PATS system and the rev. Limiter.

Yeah pretty much what I'm thinking JJSLAIL22. I have never dug into a tranny swap before. Not sure really where to start.

Thanks for the advice. This is my second auto. Transmission in the truck. It's not my daily driver and I've already took out the I.F.S. and put a dana 30 under it. I'll probably end up doing it...

ive got spark at all cylinders. plugs and wires are not bad and plugs are dry.

I have a 2001 4.0 xlt 4x4. had a slight intermittent miss for a while never concerned me. went and did a little bit of wheelin. went through some water and some mud. runs like crap. limped it home....

The bolts holding the hitch on should be the right ones..... at least on mine it was then i think two more bolts after the hitch is off..... i also used a breaker bar
