Re: No Air Conditioning & No Cruise Control

From my research it looks as though there could be a bad wire leading to the pressure switch (or a bad pressure switch) on the compressor. When I turn the A/C on the compressor runs and stops every...

Question No Air Conditioning & No Cruise Control

Hey guys, it's been a long time since I've perused these forums! My 4.0 Edge has been a project truck since about 4 years ago (been driving a '13 FX4 in the mean time), but I have it back up and...

Re: Gutted pre-cats, stuck in limp mode?

I have O2 extenders which eliminated the CEL I was getting before (when my cats were breaking apart). I ran the truck for about an hour and no codes popped up, so I think the extenders are working. ...

Re: Gutted pre-cats, stuck in limp mode?

Well I never dropped the muffler and the truck ran fine before I gutted the pre-cats (aside from the cats rattling), so I ruled out anything past the y-pipe. What would cause the muffler to plug?

Exclamation Gutted pre-cats, stuck in limp mode?

So before everyone gives me a hard time, I know that it is illegal to cut your cats and I know everyone is opposed to it. This is a move mulch and dirt kind of truck, I don't use it for much else. ...

Re: Front end clunk, right under driver's seat

Well it wasn't just one alignment, I had it done twice. The first was a Groupon and the place is terrible (my brother did the same Groupon, same result). The second place is the tire shop I always...

Re: Front end clunk, right under driver's seat

Wait, how was it not tightened down all the way? Like the bolts by the keys weren't tightened?

I know my bolts are tight because I just had it aligned twice and the sound is still there. I doubt...

Re: my 2009 remodel. I'm in love

Sort of reminds me of the lime green Wranglers. I think the contrast makes it look cool! Get some 31s or 33s and black wheels and set that thing off!

Also, is that your garage? I would kill for...

Re: Front end clunk, right under driver's seat

It had a fender bender in the front end before I bought it, but the carfax said no frame damage, just cosmetic for the most part.

I had a 4-wheel alignment done while this was going on and the...

Angry Front end clunk, right under driver's seat

Hey guys and gals,

I've got a clunk in my front end that I can't put my finger on and I'm just about desperate at this point. It's loud enough that it almost feels dangerous to be driving it, and...

Two things...

First, I put new 31s on the truck and a giant rock was stuck in the tread. I thought "awesome, I'm just an idiot, nothing's wrong!" ...

Help Identify Clicking Sound

Hey guys,

I'm hoping someone can help me identify my problem...

Just yesterday my truck started making a clicking sound when driving. It sounds like it comes from directly underneath the truck...

Re: Slow Coolant Drip - Need Help Finding It!

It was also a Dayco. The "no slack" tensioner. It seems to be working fine, that doesn't seem to be the issue.

I'm hesitant to buy a new belt because this one is only 4 months old or so. And...

Re: Slow Coolant Drip - Need Help Finding It!

I replaced the entire tensioner and put a Dayco belt on there.

The idler hasn't been replaced, but I have a stethoscope and that's definitely not the problem. It doesn't matter what area of the...

Slow Coolant Drip - Need Help Finding It!

Ok guys, I need your help on this one because I'm at a loss.

Since it got below about 40 F here (a while back) my truck has had a squeak/chirp from the serpentine that it didn't have when warm.

I've replaced the front...

Hopefully this will be the last update because I think I fixed the problem. I had my buddy over last night (a mechanic at Brenspeed for 5 years) to look at the leak and we decided upon...

Re: 4.0 help

I have had my fuel filter clog twice now in 3 years. Probably bad gas. Sometimes additives can loosen crap which can clog the filter. Who knows, the fact is it happens every now and then and I...

Re: 4.0 help

Maybe you ARE running out of gas... have you check the fuel filter for clogs?

As for the sputtering, not sure what to tell you. But pull the fuel filter and blow through it to see if it is...

Not saying your wife is wrong or a dumby... but if she's anything like my wife then it could be something as simple as a tripped inertia switch. It amazes me sometimes how someone who isn't...

Also, I will have to check with the guy who replaced my...

Re: Help! Major Coolant Discharge

That's a good question. They could be as old as the truck for all I know. Is there a way to visibly tell if they are in that bad of shape?
