Re: She's Gone. Off To A New Home.

I spotted a 95 day cab yesterday in a company lot, but it was gone by 1am. :(

Cool She's Gone. Off To A New Home.

Welp, my less-than-a-year-old purchased Ranger is gone.

A guy came along and decided he "just had to have her."

He paid me twice what I got her for, sans the timing belt and idler.

So,...

Re: Brake problem

If you jack up the front tires can you spin them freely? Same with backs .
This will isolate which brake(s) are holding.

Are you sure you got the correct calipers and/or pads?
If they're too...

Re: READ ME: All about Intake Air Temperature / CAI / MAF

Well, if I can't add anything to the intake or exhaust... what if I mounted a JATO in the bed?! http://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-dukedog.png

Re: would a 3.8 v6 fit in my 4 cyl 2.3l?

I read that a 302 fits better. Motor mounts line up and all.

....I just happen to have a 302 here....
[Too bad it's in my '72 Torino]. :)

Re: Busted screw

This takes a little art and a little skill but:

Take a sharp cold chisel and hammer a groove into the head, near the edge of the dome, to get a good gripping surface.
Then, take that same chisel...

Re: just joined need help

Hmm.

I believe the sensor for the 4x4 in integral on a 96, isn't it?

The 2wd would be external.

If I'm remembering my ABS parts correctly....

Re: noise

Hmm.

I think your brake light and noise are unrelated.

1. Make sure your brake fluid is topped up, first.

2. Is the noise more like a "Mmmmmeeeeeeooooooorrrrr" or "Squeeeeee!" or, does it...

Re: 2.5l topend noise

The cylinders are, front to back: 1234.

A metal noise will not be an electronic piece, as mentioned.

You said the engine was rebuilt 13k miles ago? Or, just the head.
(Either way, the head...

Re: Conical filter adapter swap... bad?

You would be defeating your own... self... if you do this.

Look at it this way:
You buy a larger intake snorkel and conical filter.
Then you make a heat shield that goes down to the bumper,...

Re: School me on DIS, '91 2.3

I would be concerned about the Oxygen Sensor.

If you're not firing on the exhaust stroke to clean up the spent fuel the O2 sensor will pick up a "rich" mixture and lean you out, possibly causing...

Re: Mahnarch

Thank you so much.

I don't know how often I'll frequent the boards but, it's fun to have this little toy and a group of Ranger fans to share and glean info from.

Mahnarch

I recently adopted a '93 Ranger 2.3L 5sp day cab, short box.

I'm a veteran wrench turner* but, I found that jamming gears in an 18-wheeler pays almost twice as much.
I do find busting knuckles...
