Re: Worked on 'Ol blackie this past weekend.
I've never been a Bosch fan when it comes to plugs but to say all aftermarket plugs are bad to use? Motorcraft is an awsome plug but the Autolite will work because it's the same plug.
I'm running...

Re: K&N Cold Air Intake or not?
Makes a pretty sound. Not worth a few hundred bucks to hear it though. Rangers have cold air intakes factory. Put a good brand filter in the stock box and forget it.
Now if ya want to cut up the...

Re: 10mm vs. 8mm plug wires
Iridium plugs yes. All plugs fire the same. The metal content decides the life of the plug under normal use. Iridium plugs last the longest because Iridium is the hardest metal that conducts...

Re: Factory help with common rust problems?
Most manufacturers offer a 5 year, 100,000 mile rust through. Being a 97 and you live in a high salt use area doubt it. You may get a tiny credit toward their repair but that's if you are the...

Re: Better gas mileage
+1! My 93 was sucking fuel bad even after a tune up, 16.9 combined. Checked the air pressure like I should at least once a month which I haven't been. Tires all read 25lbs. Aired them up to 35lbs....

Re: 87 Ranger brake line replace (All of it)
Welcome Catfish!
The aftermarket doesn't offer a brake line kit for the 87. The best option is buy a few rolls of steel or stainless steel brake line, 3/16ths US fittings, tube bender and...

Re: DIY: Plasti-Dip is the way to go for blaking out rims and emblems!!
+1. Most wheels are not without many nooks & crannies. If you need to remove it you may spend hours peeling it off. I have seen Plasti-Dip wheels a week later on a Firebird. Looked like they were hit...

Mine did the same thing on the 93. It's strange though. The clutch free spins when the compressor is off but grinds when on. I pulled the plug on the cycle switch as a safety so it wouldn't come on...

Dayco belt with A/C #5060885
Dayco belt without A/C #5060860
That's quite a reduction in size. 2 1/2 inches is a mile for a belt.

Re: What serpentine belt for non AC use
Dorman makes by-pass pulley kits and as far as I know they are the only ones. Dorman doesn't offer one for an 03 Ranger with a 3.0L U code engine BUT they do for an 03 Taurus 3.0L U code engine. It...
