just my $0.02, it might be worth it to pay the extra $$$ if they are a really good shop and they stand by their work. A lot of the time when you bring parts to a local shop, they won't warranty...

might it be an assembly part that is intended to fall down into pan filter after assembly? assuming this is an auto transmission and this is it's first time for the pan to be dropped of course...

the egr valve won't be commanded open until the engine is at operating temperature during light engine loads (cruising on the highway). So I wouldn't think that the egr valve is causing the idle...

Another fun trick is to take a bar of soap and barely touch the grooved side of the belt while its running lol, not sure if that is hard on the belt like belt dressing is!

I suspect it's the belt...

no prob! you can find it for like $5 online, or probably like $10-15 at auto zone.

by the way, was that the original fluid in that differential? and did you by chance check to see if it was low...

do you have a pump like this one? I've got a similar one, and it sure made it easy to refill the rear diff. I also used it for transmission fluid, really helped out.

easiest way to be positive is to look for a sensor & little electrical connector on the inside of the hub. Or run your vin number on an online vin decoder, i bet that would return which abs setup...
