Re: '03 Ranger front brake mounting issues
I'm not quite following you tomboy. We got it right then? The OEM cages have to be used with the new calipers? Just seems strange that it isn't the same hardware so you can replace everything...

Re: '03 Ranger front brake mounting issues
The picture is a little deceiving but the new bolts that go at the arrows are a larger diameter and a different thread than the OEM bolts.

'03 Ranger front brake mounting issues
Just replacing the front brake calipers on my '03 Ranger and the bolts on the new cages are bigger than the OEM stuff. They won't thread into the knuckles either. There was only one part number...

So you were "lurking" the site? You don't have an account there? Sorry, but that's even more cowardly. I'll bet it's a free sign up and email confirmation that would take all of 3 minutes to...

Hey now. Just because you got fired from your job at the M&M factory for throwing out all the W's is no reason to be calling out other people.
Lord knows I've asked some dumb questions on forums,...

Replacing a Lima engine with a Duratec ?
I have a chance to resurrect my old '97 Ranger that had nearly 300k miles on it when it had a catastrophic failure with a Duratec engine. Now don't get going on the whole ECU wont work, wiring is...

Thanks everyone.
I know what gear ratio I'm looking for and what the axle code is. What I can't find is what configuration Ranger they may have come in. Knowing that would make searching the...

Re: 2003 XL regear question
Thanks dvrich and Logan03CO
It pretty sure it will be fine mechanically. I already have to do the math for my 5% larger tires. I was hoping to not have to do any more math with the gear change. ...

2003 XL regear question
If you change the rear end gearing with either new gears or a whole rear end swap, is there anything in the computer that needs changed? I'm assuming the VSS sends a signal but does the computer need...

Looks like this was asked here some years ago, but at the time didn't get an answer. I am wondering the same thing so I was hoping that over the years someone may have come up with some more...

Re: 5-speed shudders at 1500 rpm after clutch rebuild
Thanks tomboy.
I did find the exhaust was really knocked out of whack and I also had a broken transmission mount.
Some pushing and pulling, $10 worth of parts, and in about an hour I had...

5-speed shudders at 1500 rpm after clutch rebuild
Hello all.
Truck has been running well so I haven't had the chance to stop back here. That is until now. '03 XL standard cab/2.3l/5-speed. About as plain Jane as they come.
Long story as...

Older rear axle into a newer truck
I know the pre '92 rear axles are 2" narrower than post '92 axles, but can they still be swapped into 2002+ Rangers without any modifications? Shock mounts, spring perches, etc.?

Re: Bigger Tires - Adjust Speedometer?
Like dvrich said, 4% is nothing to worry about.
I wonder if an '09 has a way to re flash the computer to adjust for the new tire size?
Definitely not necessary though.

Re: A Rant .....
My '97 had just short of 300K miles on it when I took it off the highway. If I could find a throttle cable for it, I might be able to get it back to being an in town grocery getter.

If it's a slosh module I'm not sure they are still available retail. The easiest way to get one is head out to the junkyard or local pick-n-pull and pull a cluster and pop it out. All of about a...

That almost feels like an "Oh yeah......well......" type response. Did I strike a nerve?
Maybe you were confused with the crux of what I was getting at. Was it the vernacular?
