Heater core
Try having the heater core flushed. This may work. Depending on how old your truck is if it needs a new heater core you may just want to get another truck.

The 3.o is bulletproof but don't expect much performance.... its an old school, dreadfully simple pushrod motor. I know people who have turbocharged it though with good results

You probably can't use a Taurus motor. The reason being is that the Taurus is a front wheel drive vehicle and I'm not sure that the transmission from a ranger would connect correctly. I know that you...
