Under the dash left of the ash tray there are two plastic boxes the bigger one is the body computer the little one is the the wiper control module. I would try this first. Get this from a salvage...

sure sound like fuel pressure problem. Did you replace the plugs or just clean and gap?

wiper and tachometer problem
symtoms, truck :92 ranger xlt 4.0 automatic

My 92 ranger that I bought new in 92 is needing a little tlc , with over 200k on the 4.0 and 2 auto trans overhaul, the little things like the auto hubs not locking in and the windshield wipers only...
