Re: Tuner for improved MPG 2011 Ranger XL 2.3?

Makes sense. Doing the quick math, if I spend (estimated) $50 on a used tuner, then $150 to unlock the tuner (DiabloSport unlock price), then I'm $200 in the hole.

If said tuner bumps my MPG from...

Re: Tuner for improved MPG 2011 Ranger XL 2.3?

Thanks. Was wondering whether a tuner has to be plugged in to OBDii at all times, or if it just needs to be tuned once then I can sell the tuner to the next guy. BC if I buy used then resell it won't...

Tuner for improved MPG 2011 Ranger XL 2.3?

Any recommendations or personal experience getting some better performance, especially MPG, out of a 2.3L Ranger via Tuner? Is it possible, is it worth it, is there any tuner sharing that I can get...

Re: How to Remove Door Scuff with Rusty Screws?

Thanks - I got that vibe too. Every community has a few of 'em.

I dabbed a bit of poly onto the OEM screws - hoping that buys me a few more rustless years. It's a simple thing but aesthetically I...

Re: How to Remove Door Scuff with Rusty Screws?

Apologies, I should have clarified that I'm not seeing the same black phosphate, screw+washer assembly of the right size at hardware/parts stores. Appreciate your input regardless.

Here is the OEM...

Re: How to Remove Door Scuff with Rusty Screws?

Got a link to the right screws? I don't necessarily need Stainless. Just having a tough time finding OEM replacement screws for this beast. All mine are rusted.

Re: 2004 and up Ranger to Mustang Dome Light Mod

^I agree. The mustang light looks like a tube. The Explorer light looks more natural.

Re: 2004 and up Ranger to Mustang Dome Light Mod

I'm eyeballing it as roughly 20 gauge. Definitely within the 18-22 gauge of the red taps (Google "18-22 gauge tap" for example). As far as other connector suggestions, you'll be fine with these...

Gotcha buddy.

Re: 2009 XLT Adding Fog Lights

Can you post a copy of the wiring diagram that you used? And is that mod that you linked required to get the fog lights to work?

Re: Any advice to wire foglights into my '10?

Hey man,
I'm in the same boat as you were. As in, I'm wiring foglights into my 2011 XL, into the OEM headlight switch. (My XL headlight switch didn't originally have the foglight pull-option, so I...

Re: 2004 and up Ranger to Mustang Dome Light Mod

Dude. First and foremost, make sure your map lights work at all. This can be done thousands of ways, but easiest would be to take a 2-inch long wire and connect it from your (confirmed working) dome...

Re: 2004 and up Ranger to Mustang Dome Light Mod

You don't need to solder. Just wrap the map light wire around that 3rd screw and screw it in upside down. The other 2 screws hold the whole mount to the ceiling sufficiently.

Re: 2004 and up Ranger to Mustang Dome Light Mod

That's what mine does too. Stays on indefinitely if you don't turn them off manually. There's been a lot of people trying to hook the map lights onto the 10-minute timer with no luck, so I think you...

Re: 2004 and up Ranger to Mustang Dome Light Mod

You got it man. Let us know if you run into any issues or have any questions. The white with red stripe wire is approx 20 gauge thickness so I recommend using 18-20 gauge wire to splice into it. Its...

My apologies for clogging this thread up. The white with red striped wire behind the headlight switch IS CONFIRMED to be the right wire to splice into for the 2011 Ranger. The problem is that there...

Re: 2004 and up Ranger to Mustang Dome Light Mod

Thanks for the suggestion but I have confirmed that this is NOT the right wire. I'm not entirely sure of its function, but the white with red stripe wire has something to do with ABS/traction control...

Re: Contoured Mud Flaps

You don't think that last picture looks terrible? Look at how the mud flap just hangs onto the one side there, dangling out in the middle of all that space. Ugh.
