Re: Grrr!

I had just about the same problem w/ my shifter. Turns out the fluid reservoir was empty and the system had air in it. I just added fluid and it's fine now. No leaks either.

Re: Power Steering Leak.

Re: Tire chains?

I used chains a lot when I lived in Portland OR a few years ago. It's so steep there, I had no choice but to use them. Haven't had to use them since though. The 4wd has been enough to get me out of...

Re: surface rust on frame

I've never had much luck with Rustoleum inhibiting rust, especially where it's going to get nicked up by road debris etc. The best thing I've used for that purpose is POR 15...

Re: Backyard Mechanics

That's too scary! Front brakes and bearings are so simple you almost have to try to do them wrong. That guy should be ashamed for putting his friend in danger like that.

Re: What engine would you choose?

I tow a small camper, so I specifically looked for a 4.0. I previously had an Aerostar 4WD with a 4.0 in it and it was a beast so I definitely wanted that engine.

Re: Clutch Doesn't Seem to Disengage

Actually the reservoir was empty, so I added fluid 'til it stopped bubbling. That helped alot, so if I bleed the clutch this weekend it should be better. I'll check what you suggested, fluid color in...
