I'll have...

Re: 2001 2.3 repair question

Model-A,

I agree. The more I talk about this with people the more I'm convinced the dealers are indeed crooks.

The guys at the dealer always said "temperature sensor" whenever the issue was...

Re: 2001 2.3 repair question

I'm sadly finding that to be true. Looks like it will either be me or another repair guy that will get it changed out. Coincidentally, that damned light is not on now. Wonder if the bulb burned out?...

Re: 2001 2.3 repair question

Oh man, thanks for this input STL. I was wondering though........why would the dealer tell me there was a sensor AND housing that costs 250 bucks? Could there be another temperature sensor on the...

2001 2.3 repair question

I posted about this issue in the GD section and haven't seen a reply, so maybe I put the question in the wrong place.

Anyway I'll try here..........what does it normally cost to replace the...

Re: Howdy

You're right. It's been a good vehicle. 2.3, 5-Spd O/D automatic. 96,658 miles. I'd like to keep it nice and solid too, but am leery of dealers and some repair places of late

Re: How many miles do you have on your Ranger?

Mine's an XLT, 2WD, Standard cab, 2.3 automatic short bed. I'm the original owner and it had 33 miles on it when I drove it off the lot and 96,658 to date.

Howdy

Hi, I own a 2001 Ranger XLT that I bought on 9/11/2001 after both our 20+ years old vehicles took a dump on us. I hope this little Ranger will be with me for many years to come.
