Re: Lets talk worst... mods, bad mods, regret mods, not worth the money....

Shorty antenna. Reception suffered and now I'm looking at a signal booster to get it back without putting the old antenna in.

Re: Anyone outhere running the GForce power chip in their ranger?

It appears to be one of those "chips" that's really just a resistor for the MAF. Your engine will run rich and you'll burn a lot of cash in lost MPG for nothing. It's a scam.

Edit: If you really...

I get around 250 on a single tank before I have to refill (~18mpg)

Re: Replaced Blend Door Actuator Today

Too late now, but a tip for the actuator removal and installation:

Forget the back screw! Use a sawzall or other cutting blade to chop the rear post off from underneath for removal, and don't put...

Re: Need blower resistor help on 01 Ranger

You can see a picture of it here:

Not that hard to swap. I wish you would have posted a few days earlier; I just threw out a...

Clean it REALLY well before you paint, and put on several thin coats. I did my overhead console and bezel in this stuff and it looks great.

Re: Junkyard treasures - what else is out there waiting?

Got an overhead console and auto dimming mirror for $12.56 out the door. The mirror is from an older model but the plug fits; I'm hoping it will work (if not I will go back and get another). Going to...

Re: Heads up - Goodyear Gatorback serpentine belt

Sounds like the belt is too small. I think the right belt is GTR-4060855, not 4060858

No seat travel lost; that was why I didn't go bigger.

Re: Did a simple install today

I've got it covered in wire loom and zip tied to about a dozen points under the body. I didn't tie anything to the frame and I left about 4" slack in the line just in case I decide to do a body lift...

Re: Larger gas tank on 04 XLT 4X4?

I'm also curious about this; wouldn't a ford explorer gas tank bolt right up? (IIRC those are around 22.5 gal)

edit: maybe not, just realized the filler neck is in a completely different location

Re: How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end

It's not hard to do at all - get a $20 harbor freight 4.5" electric angle grinder, and spend around $5 on a pack of discs, and grind away. I'd never done anything like it before and I had mine...

Thumbs up Did a simple install today

I ran the power wire through the back floor and under the truck to the battery; seemed cleaner than going under the thin rubber flooring. I'm pretty happy with it, though I need to conceal the wiring...

Re: How To: Install Silver HVAC Panel

Out of curiosity, why not just look for the EATC instead? I mean the silver looks great, but the EATC is a major upgrade and will probably only cost a few bucks more than a new HVAC control panel at...

Re: RCA Wire Quality?

I would only worry if you are running your RCA's alongside the power wire (which you shouldn't). Cheap stuff is fine, and make sure to cross over any power wires at a 90 degree angle if you have to.

Question Tripminder... possible to install in a newer ranger? (FFI pin location?)

I've been reading the guides posted here (http://www.therangerstation.com/Magazine/winter2009/tripminder.htm) and here (http://www.coolcats.net/modifying/tripminder.html), and I want to install this...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread

Pulled the radio bezel out and started sanding. I'll probably be finished with the sanding and ready for a first coat of paint tomorrow night. I fully expect it to take a few days. Not totally sure...

Re: Manual to power locks conversion done

I did that exact same kit recently :) Pretty happy with mine. I used this button (www.ebay.com/itm/110730926946) (wire it to the white/black/brown in the drivers side door).

Re: Junkyard treasures - what else is out there waiting?

I don't mind the blue at all.

Now that I think about it, I did find a white explorer sport cluster that I can grab for $29.99; not sure if I want to do the swap though. It doesn't seem too hard,...

Re: Junkyard treasures - what else is out there waiting?

Yeah, think it was a 97. There was a 99 with the EATC, but the whole front clip was missing, so I didn't bother (I wanted to get everything, including the sensors, from one vehicle). The only thing...

Re: Rear disk brakes stock on 2010 Rangers?

10.5" for the normal mustang rotors. The key is that you can have them up and running for under $200 (including absolutely everything needed for the swap, not just the brake parts). You won't come...
