I was always under the assumption that 4x4s didn't get the aluminum. probably cause i've never seen one around here.
but that is pretty interesting.

Re: 94 ranger (simple mods?) just having fun
You can recover your own headliner really easy. You might need to take the seats out of your truck to get it out and back in, but its really easy to do that too.

Re: 94 ranger (simple mods?) just having fun
OHC is easy, but you have to mod the bracket a bit for Gen3 roof. there is a write up on here on how to do that.
see if you can find a Fog light valence and get some fog lights, i think that...

Re: Is 900rpm too high an idle?
For the record, Desired idle is somewhere around 750 RPM.
If your idle is at 1200, you have a vacuum leak, luckily for you almost all the vacuum lines are visible on the OHV. If you can't feel or...

Re: Aluminum driveshaft
The aluminum came on 2wd trucks, they're lighter (duh) and not recommended for 4x4 trucks since they're hollow.

Re: 4.0L ORV why so slow?
If this truck was always serviced by a dealership, I'd put my money on the operator.
Not to be an ass-hole, but there is a reason they don't make the OHV engine anymore. You can't expect much...

Re: 4.0L ORV why so slow?
How about, You drive a v-8 everyday and this is a v-6 barely pushing 200 horses on a good day.
Clean your IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. that will cure your idle problem.

Re: experimental question
Guys have done it, but you need to swap a bit more than just the header panel.
you need new fenders, the 93-97 and 04-11 have different headlight shapes. 93-97 hood is different also. you might also...

Correct, in case you overfill it. It expands when its warm and your turning the wheel etc, and compresses when its cold, on the inside of the cap there is two lines, a "cold fill" and a "warm fill"...

Check your Brake fluid level and your power steering fluid.
The less fluid in your power steering, the more whine it will make when your turning.
How do you brakes feel? spongy? does the pedal...

Does your tire spin freely? i highly doubt it.
You can't jam down on either of them. It will put unnecessary drag on your tires. i bet its a pain in the ass to take it apart too.

Tighten the nut until you have too much drag on the wheel, back the nut off a touch so that it spins and you can feel just a touch of drag.
Like whoever said above, you need to make sure the...

you need to grease your speedo cable. Its a pain the ass to do it. you have to take the instrument cluster out, unhook the cable from the back and shoot a little bit of penetrating grease in there.

i've heard bad stories both ways actually. I've always heard drain it of all the fluids, but i've never stored a car for good.
If you put pure premium in, it won't go bad. FWIW.
