Hi Guys,

Thanks again for the comments. My intent is to remove the spindle, it is loose and ready to come off. My problem was the oval brace on the one side that is preventing this from happening...

Hi tomboy,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the oval brace was a surprise to me. The ABS sensor probe pushes through the large hole on it.

My spindle is loose, but that brace prevents me from taking...

I seem to be stuck trying to get to the ball joints on my 1996 Ford Ranger 4.0 4wd. Any help with this would be appreciated.

I'll second what IndianaRanger said. Take out the master cylinder, reservoir and tubing and bench bleed them. Because of the orientation of the master cylinder when it is installed, it will trap air....

From everything I've read, once the pushrod is installed in the master cylinder during install, it's in there to stay. Afterward you have to deal with the master cylinder and pushrod as an assembly....
