Massive Shuttering

After replacing my starter, I am getting massive rear end shuttering when doing slow speed 90degree turning. It's feels like one of the tires is 80% locked up.

Never had this problem before. Maybe...

Re: Replaced Starter - One Loud Click

One question. Does it matter if you hook up jumper cables to the terms of the battery, or can you hook them up to the metal tung of the wires next to the terminals.

Re: Replaced Starter - One Loud Click

Fixed issue, was the battery. I tried jump starting my truck with the old starter, but wouldn't turn on. I jump start my new starter, and it works. So I guess it's a duo of the starter, then battery...

Re: Starter, One Click-No Start

Update: I took the starter down to autozone, where its passed, then failed, then passed their test on their machine. Looking at it with the guy, he looked like the ground wasn't being grounded...

Re: Starter, One Click-No Start

Yes, I had to get home, how else would I start it? Was on a hill, and was able to reserve bump start it by myself, which was a surprise to me, never did a reserve bump (knew you could) and would of...

Re: Starter, One Click-No Start

It was doing a single click(from the starter), I removed the relay, and got no click at all. So that should confirm its the starter.

Advance AP= $125 Reman
Auto Zone = $80 Reman (dura-crap)...

Re: Starter, One Click-No Start

Already cleaned terms. And I don't need to bang on the starter, it's a 5spd, already had to reserve bump start it, don't like to on the clutch springs/fingers. I will go ahead and replace do to the...

Re: Starter, One Click-No Start

Yea, that's what I'm going to do. Just want to confirm it couldn't be anything else. I knew this day was going to happen, with 196k, and the crappy placement of it getting oil spilled on it each oil...

Starter, One Click-No Start

I turn the key, the starter will make one click and that's it, nothing more. Battery is perfectly fine, normal volts, headlights, radio,ac, all work just fine. I would try testing the starter motor,...

Re: Looseness/Noises

They never been replaced however they look brand new with a little dirt on them, all tight. I've checked all suspension parts when doing the shocks, everything from sway bar to bearings to ball...

re: Accident roll over. Yes the ranger.**update

Sorry about the truck. In short, yes it will be totaled since the value they measure will most likely be around two grand for the truck. Hopefully they will give you more then that to buy a similar...

Re: Rotor questions.

Okay, thanks. And thanks to everyone else that has posted. Having no major problems with my truck at 196k besides a slightly worn 2nd gear synchro. Engine oil is always clean, I would say this is due...

Re: Rotor questions.

I'll just borrow one from the auto store, the reviews on the rotors said that it comes with the races already pressed in. Still one question unanswered, is it okay to reuse the 3year old...

Re: Rotor questions.

Yes, I really should have one, but money is tight. I've seen videos where it needs to be tight but loose enough to let the bearings to let the rotor spin freely, too tight will ruin the bearings....

Re: Rotor questions.

One more question, my wheel bearings were replaced about three years ago, is it okay to reuse those, and they should just slide out of the old rotors with no problem correct? Last time I did an...

Re: Rotor questions.

Okay thanks. Looks at videos, appears the bearings just slide into place, nothing requiring a press. And going to go with the hand packing method for the bearings, don't see the need spending 20...

Rotor questions.

Steering wheel is moving a bit under braking. I assume it's the rotors. I've done rotors before on normal FWD cars, and is very easy, however it appears that with my 2wd spindle Ranger, that it's...

Re: Manual Vs Automatic

I have 196k on my 5spd. I love the 5spd, but hate one thing about it, the pervious owner, which happens to be my dad, sucks at driving a stick shift. Pretty much my 2nd gear synco is gone, and always...

XLT to Honeycomb Grillie $200 OEM question.

Found out on the ford part website that you can buy color matching, painted, honeycomb grilles for $200 bucks. My truck is an XLT, 2002, WITHOUT the power dome. All the pics I've seen with Ford...

Re: Junkyard motor

It's tricky buying used. Buy from a junkyard and not a motor yard. They will get a total car, get the miles off the dash, and are more likely to be good motors then a place where it's all motors....

Re: Check Engine light

Since we are on a car/truck related forum, they can be used interchangeably. Just like how some people refer to SUVs as trucks, however that one annoys me more so the engine and motor.
