Re: Road Noise

Thanks but, they are new. I'm thinking that the noise is coming from the wheel wells, that I can see through the door jams. I'm thinking about closing those openings.

Thumbs up Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

Over the weekend I installed a, made in USA, aluminum differential cover/girdle from TA Performance Products on my 1999 3.0 V6, which was easy peasy and added around another 1/2 pint more 75-90...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

Why would Ford make us take the complete cover and steel back plate off just to get to the flasher? That is what my beef was all about.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

I changed out my OEM flasher for a anti-hyperflash one on my '99 and what a fun time that was! I am left wondering...how evil was the bastard sadist engineer that designed it's position and how it is...

Re: 2001 Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 SOHC 4x4 Blinking Overdrive Light

Take a look at the black wire that comes out of the shifter lever by just taking off the column cover. Mine was being pinched by the shifter mechanism and all I had to do was re-route it to a better...

Re: No current to temp blend knob

Well Tony, you will be disappointed in me, but I gave up and brought it to a local automotive A/C man and he charged me $390 to replace the actuator. I would have just lost it and damaged the plenum...

Re: No heat

You will have hot coolant all of the time in your heater core if you bypass the valve. If you don't mind that (cold weather coming) it won't hurt anything.

Re: Jerks and dies when warming up

I still think it is your fuel system. Have the system pressure tested and change your fuel filter. Try spraying your throttle body out with a can of throttle body cleaner while it is running. Keep it...

Re: No heat

Yesterday I checked for vacuum at the hot water valve and there is none at any HVAC setting, so I locked the valve in the closed position with a spring since it has been hotter than the hubs of hell...

Re: No heat

Did any of you smell burning insulation when your blend door problems started happening? It has been a month or so since mine quit working and I can still smell it. Strangely enough, no fuses blew. I...

Re: Performance chips

I have no first hand knowledge of those devices Greg, but from what I have read they increase HP and TQ at the expense of fuel mileage. My '99 3.0 XLT gets 17mpg and I will not do anything that will...

Re: milky coolant... AGAIN!!!

I am assuming that you have an automatic trans. The only way you can be getting ATF in your coolant is if the radiator is mixing it together. Have your radiator pressure tested and or, look for ATF...

Re: No current to temp blend knob

Thanks John, maybe I will give it another try this winter. There must be a ratchet that is not very thick somewhere, maybe I will check out what Sears has. My smallest 1/4" ratchet is around 3/4"...

Re: No current to temp blend knob

Well, I found the actuator easily enough but just closed up the glove box once I saw that it is impossible to remove. At least for me. I've read elsewhere that the dash has to be moved back to get to...

Re: No heat

Is it possible to move the air bag system on a '99 up just and inch or so? That's all I would need to get to that rear screw holding the actuator. Maybe access it by removing the windshield defrost...
