Re: Act Of Valor

Watched it tonight, gotta love the Navy blowing stuff up and protecting freedom.

My hats off to all who serve.

Re: RWD in snow

I put 420# in the back of mine right up against the tailgate when the only snow of the season so far came through. Put the wide tires down firm and I could drive at highway speeds in a couple inches...

Re: wood bumper

You would be my hero with a bumper like that.

Why not go all out with wooden step rails and rear bumper? Carry the theme all the way round. Go up top with a 'fake' roll cage / light bar.

Re: '07 Sensor Pod

Fire Ranger: if the variable is measuring constant, then it's always right :D. But it still seems that gauge is pretty much useless. It might be useful to know oil pressure in a high performance...

Re: question for the Star Wars guru's. heheheh

Do I love Star Wars because I'm a geek, or am I a geek because I love Star Wars?

Start with #456, then watch #123. You can never truly appreciate how great the originals are without the newest...

Re: '07 Sensor Pod

wait, are you talking about that one thing or the little doohicky?

I didn't know the gauge was oil pressure, seems like temp be would be more useful. Is the dummy resistor there for an analog...

Re: '07 Sensor Pod

Nobody's got nothing huh? Oh Well.

Found a nice thermocouple to measure exhaust temp and a couple accelerometers to measure the massive g's of acceleration and cornering. Then comes the tuning to...

Re: new tool set for this guy :)

Neato. How much did you spend for it?

Also, I didn't know the Ranger was metric. But I guess that's how the wold works these days.

Re: Performance tire suggestion

Check my signature. Road noise is negligible, even at 70 I can hardly hear them over the 4-cylinders of fury.

Re: Performance tire suggestion

I'm enjoying the Mastercraft's that came on my truck. For road use I'm getting all the traction I need and the gravel parking where I go fishing doesn't slow me down. They grip well enough in the...

Re: toyota

I thought the acceleration issue was an engineering issue? One of my college professors was telling us the gas pedal was poorly designed to make it look better and it got caught on itself.

Re: Hey anybody in the FRF from Rhode Island?

Does Rhode Island even count as a state?
See as you can drive across it in a few hours.

:)

I'm about 20 minutes from the border going on I-95. I'd come roll with you but with a 2.3 and 4x2...

Re: touring car racing

If you want racing you gotta get the SPEED channel, usually has a few different kinds on Saturday's.

I don't currently have it but I was watching the American Le-Mans series for a while.

Re: toyota

Well if the L-ion batteries didn't add 1000 lbs or explode when you got in a wreck....

then they might sell a little better.

Does this have anything to do with the Ranger's replacement?

I heard the other day the Ford is bringing back the F100.

'07 Sensor Pod

Alrighty boys I'm looking for some input. Having a bone stock truck leaves some luxuries to be desired. So I figure I might as well use my $50k degree . I'm designing and prototyping a sensor pod...

Re: VW tdi in a ranger?

Shame it's too much work converting to 4wd, the transaxle can be used as a transfer case to split front/rear. Extreme 4x4 did it for a tube buggy using a civic engine.

I wouldn't think running a...

Re: Should i go to the ER?

then wrap it up and take it to the doc tomorrow for his opinion. ER isn't going to do anything but clean and wrap it and charge too much.

Re: 215/70/14 and 215/75/14 on rear axle?

Re: 195/75/14 ?

Put 'em on the front. It's going to mess up your steering a little but you probably want the most traction on the drive wheels.

Nothing wrong with running them on the back, but it'll mess up your...

Re: Opinions needed on what tires to get

I bought my truck with the Mastercrafts in my signature. Slightly bigger than stock and I'm impressed with the grip they have on the highway. I'm taking interstate on/off ramps at 40 mph with no...
