If it melted the IAC valve hose then it will probably run like crap. Run some marvel mystery oil through your oil and see if it helps.

I don't think that the egr will make it run like that. Worst from an egr Ive.seen is a little sputtering and hesitation. It could be bad ring/rings. Sounds dumb but try to redline it for a few secs....

Check the grounds to it and the positive wire. If it's shorting it out, then the starter is getting unregulated voltage.

Yes check the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator. If you.take it.off and start it, it'll rev around.that range. Try that. Hose first.
