IAC easy to remove on my 4-cyl, unplug electrical connector then remove the 2 screws that hold it in place. Careful there's a gasket on it.

cleaned IAC, it didnt really looked dirty but put it back in and went for short drive with no problems. thanks .

engine idle fluctuates when A/C is on, engine almost stalls. '98 Ranger 4x2 2.5L 4-cyl. 207,000 mi. IAC was replaced last year.

if your CEL came on you have trouble codes. Autozone here will check for codes for free.

there are ways to test your egr i looked up somewhere on line but the easy method is to drive down the freeway at a pretty good speed(i went 75-80mph) for a few miles(i went 10) then get off and come...

thanx killj0y. i cleaned iac- it was cruddy. drove for 1 hr same road where i didnt think i would make it home the other day. much better performance. still had 2 slight stumbles and 2 stalls near...

i had rough idling and lack of power on my '98 4 cyl ranger w/188,000 mi on it. replaced egr valve and it fixed it. i had no check engine light or trouble codes tho. also had noticeable jerking going...
