Re: Tranny issues

Thanks for all the good advice. Might just bite the bullet and take to a good shop. Maybe have them do a BG flush. I don't know near enough to do it myself and I'll admit it.

Are these ball joints up to snuff?

Because they don't look right to me. Had a shade tree mechanic do them because I was moving into a house, was cash poor and they needed to be done. Now the front end vibrates like a mofo and my...

Re: Ball Joint replace upper & Lower

Yep it's coil springs. I wasn't aware of the torsion bar until I saw it at Rock Auto because the different parts numbers and such. Was a bit confusing.

Re: Ball Joint replace upper & Lower

Crap sorry left that out! It's a 4x2. Now it does have the springs with shocks so I assume it's a coil spring suspension. I know just enough to get me in trouble. I managed to replace the stabilizer...

I own a 2000 Ranger XLT V6-Flex and need to replace the ball joints. Problem is Moog offers parts for both torsion bar and coil spring suspension. I believe mine has the coil spring but how do you...

3.0 Flex best coil pack

I have an idea my coil pack may need to be replaced but it's a shot in the dark. Don't want to blow a lot if it's not so should I drop the $70+ for a Ford or have any of you tried any others you like?

Re: 2000 3.0 4x2 front end squeaking

I have found joy!!! Love days like this I gotta say because the fk'ers are too few and in between. But pays to have a mechanic in the family. Apparently when I replaced the tie-rods (yeah, I did it)...

Re: 2000 3.0 4x2 front end squeaking

NOOOO wrong answer bro. The correct answer was Simple fix: Happens to most 2000 models takes a wrench, 5 min and $30.

Now try again.

Hell, you could even add a 0 and I wouldn't be too pissed.

2000 3.0 4x2 front end squeaking

Front end squeaks and moans on bumps and also when I turn the wheel. Truck has 129,700K. Has new tie rods. Sounds like coming mostly from passenger side. Last mechanic to do work told me new front...

Re: Engine pinging/rattling on acceleration

Not only pings but has unsteady idle. Replaced the idle air controller (think that's what it's called) but still does it. Does get better when I run E85 but man it clatters like a sob when I run 87...

Re: Engine pinging/rattling on acceleration

Well I did the tune up but still pings although not really bad. Bought some Seafoam so gonna try that. If that doesn't work I'll try the coil pack route.

One thing after another.

Re: Where can I find this part?

Oh NOOOOW you tell me! I was at the junk yard and saw 3 of these in perfect shape but since design was different I thought they wouldn't fit.
Then I did some research and saw this one now you tell...
