i measured all the parts and they all are exactly the same..i took out the oil pump drive shaft and the distrubutor still doesnt fit!!

my old distributor fits just fine so the oil pump shaft isnt broken or bent. and its turns just fine with the old distributor. its almost like the entire shaft is a little bit to large

thank you. now i just got to go to the junk yard and find one! and the gasket that they have for the auxiliary shaft which is what we are talking about looks like its part of the oil pan gasket too...

i have a 1983 ford ranger 2.3l. my truck died while going down the high way the other day, i thought it was timing so i line up all my marks and still no good. i check my distrubutor and its way off...

could i take my 2 wheel drive ranger and get the front axle assembly from a 4 wheel drive and put it in my truck with minor mods??? they are the same year trucks

will a 1988 5 speed transmission out of a 88 2.3l ranger need a different clutch then a 4spd manual 1983 transmission? the 5 speed will be going into my 1983 ford ranger.

i know they have different slaves. but im not really sure about the clutches. the 2.3l i got the 5 speed off of was exactly the same except it was mfi.

do you happen to know how many washers i can stack on there with out screwing up steering? i have heard that 2 inches of washers will give you 2 1/2 inches of lift??

i dont know if this helps but i have very high oil presher its between the top normal line and the high line.

timing is all good. plugs look gold brown ish. i check my millage by running her dry then i put 7 gallons in went around 50 miles and ran out of gas again
