Re: Fabtech 3” lift

If I remember right it had to do with the backspacing of the factory wheels or some such. It's been a few years since I researched it.

Any reason for going with Fabtech? I'm not saying they are...

Re: 2004 Ranger struggles to get shifted into drive

What are the circumstances when this happens? First start-up in the morning? After heavy rain?

My 02 had an issue where the rear drum brakes would stick resulting in what you are describing.

Re: 265/75r15

Negative. His 98 4wd has the torsion bar suspension and is about 2" taller than the coil spring trucks. They will fit fine.

Re: Body Lifts

Just making sure because the 99 2wd trucks have coil springs.

Yep that's me. At one point I planned on swapping the truck to 4wd but ended up buying a Jeep back in 2016. Ended up selling the...

Re: Body Lifts

Didn't see it mentioned previously but your truck is 4wd correct? Just wanted to clarify because is you have a 99 2wd you do not have torsion bars and keys will not work.

Re: Are either of these lift kits worth it for my 2000 2wd? New to the lift game.

What year spindles did you order? 01+ spindles may require you to replace your 00 brake rotors with the slightly larger 01+ ones.

As for grinding the LCA, on my 02 I has to cut off the steering...

Re: 1998 Ranger 2x4 Rear Drive Wheel

With an open differential, whichever wheel starts to slip first will receive all the power. Another way to put it is whichever wheel is easier to spin that is the one that will spin.

Re: Lowering a 2006 Ranger Sport ?

That is about as low as you can go though. New shocks might be needed but you should be able to get by with your stock ones if you end up a few inches lower. If nothing else have you considered...

Re: Lowering a 2006 Ranger Sport ?

If you can jack up the truck and turn a wrench/ratchet this is very do-able in your garage/driveway.

Most people go up not down with the torsion bars but this video explains the process well. For...

Re: Lowering a 2006 Ranger Sport ?

Your 2006 Ranger Sport should have torsion bars up front and 2.25"-2.5" lift blocks In the rear. You could remove the block and de-crank your torsion bars to lower the truck about 2"-2.5". This...

Re: Lift amount?

Post a picture of the area behind the front wheels a few steps in front of the truck (crouch down). Also take a picture of where the axle connects to the leaf spring, then follow the spring to the...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread IV

Drove it around for an hour or two hoping the monitors would reset since I fixed the P0455 issue with no luck. Been trying to get it ready for inspection off and on for about 3 weeks now.

Re: Helping my son buy his first Ranger

A few cables need to be un-clipped from the frame but all that is included in the instructions. If you have a manual transfer case you would have to figure out a way to extended it but I think you...

Re: Helping my son buy his first Ranger

The Performance Accessories 3" body lift comes with brackets to lift the bumper. So far I have helped install three of them. The first one (my truck) took right about 10 hours or so with two...

Always was a fan of your Mazda and extremely jealous of that bumper set up. Glad you are liking the FX4!

Now I am starting to miss my camper shell :(

Re: Shocks for Lifted Ranger

Spindle lifts do not require new shocks up front. Your factory ones are fine provided they are not bad.

Re: 99 ranger 2wd front suspension

-98+ 4wd Rangers do not have coil springs, they use torsion bars.
-AFAIK there is no difference between I4 and V6 coil springs.
-Lower control arms are a different shape and have different rear...

Re: Ebay Lift Spindles (review)

Interesting. I've had mine since March 2013 and have beat the crap out of them without issue. The WnP spindles always seemed to be flawless or issues. Hopefully they will help you out.
