Those pumps were low pressure. Some used 2 fuel pumps. I assume you have replaced the fuel filter already. A bad in tank check valve can cause some of problems you are having. Most likely a bad pump...

My owners manual says semi synthetic or synthetic oil. Not conventional. I have a 2010 Ford ranger. Maybe you should read your manual.

Because of the timing chain issues in this motor use best oil you can afford. I use synthetic only. The owners manual does not say high mileage or conventional oil.

for best highway mileage 3.55 but if you plan to off road 4.1. I am 2000 rpm at 60 mph. running 29 inch tires. gas mileage over 20 mpg. vehicle not lifted.

four other possibilities. fuel filter replacement and the fuel pressure regulator located on fuel rail under hood and of course a worn out fuel pump and a plugged sock which covers intake for fuel...

first oil change conventional oil after that synthetic. i use 5w30 8 months of year. other 4 months 5w20 because -20f in winter here for better winter starting.

The only problem with that is if it is made like my 2010 ranger is the spring clamp is sized for a certain filter size. Not sure how secure it will be with the wrong size filter. I get my filters...

I had a 2002 mazda pickup and when the tie rod ends went i heard a sound like you describe. 6 months before the tie rods failed i heard all the time whenever i hit a bump.

I previously had this and the wiring was burnt through for the egr valve causing a non working egr valve. Also a bad fuel pump can cause this.ie low pump pressure
