So heres a little update. Drove the truck the other day and smelled the burning smell again, and the AC is still not working.

Well I let the truck sit overnight and then the next morning came out...

Well after driving the truck today, there is still no AC and there is no smell.... but I normally only smelled it after driving a while and only had in town short trips today.

disable A/c WOT control - Vacuum leak

I want to disable the function that cuts the AC when in WOT. Please don't ask why, don't try to convince me not to.

What controls this function and how would I disable it without making the CEL...

Im assuming that everything is different between the lima and DOHC engines.

BUT if you find out yourself that it works, ill sell it to ya cheap.

I pulled the motor out of the truck suspecting a cracked head/block and will be parting out what viable on it. was out of a 01 ranger, stick

Just a few I can think of:
Intake manifold
Exhaust...

I actually just replaced that part myself WITHOUT pulling the motor. It is ford part number 8k556, cost about $112 from them. Call a junkyard. It CAN be done with the motor in but i had to take...

looks like the 2.5 should bolt right in place of the 2.3 and apparently all/most of the wiring will be the same as well. Only thing im a little confused about is wether my 2.3 is a early or late...

So truck engine is shot, pretty sure the head is cracked. Wanna replace it. I have a few questions

First off Im assuming that going with a 2.3L would be the easiest and most straight forward way...

not heater control valve, just replaced that one so i know its not that.

according to a schematic that Rg1Baja sent me, it is some sort of coolant bypass but i still cant find the part online...

this isnt too great of a picture but i figure it might help some. I circled the part im looking for althought you can barely see it in this piucture, u can only see the very edge of it.

2001 ranger 2.3

on the back of the cylinder head, passenger side, there is a silver piece that attaches to the back of the head and the other side accepts one side of the metal tube that goes...
