Re: 2.3 MPG's

Regular cabs come with a 3.73. I'm not sure if you can even order the regular cab with the 4.10.

Re: 2.3 MPG's

I got to thinking, to the OP and others that get above 26 MPG average; are you in a single cab or extended cab. I have an extended cab and from the specs I found the extended cab model comes with a...

Re: Reason for purchasing ranger vs f150?

Actually, I did buy my Ranger for the gas mileage. I had the dealership find a 2.3L with the 5 spd. I average 25.3 MPG with this set up and I've gotten 27.5 highway. That's with the AC on...

Re: 2.3 MPG's

Wow, I've got a '11 with the 2.3 & 5 spd. The best I've ever gotten is 27.2 on a 310 mile round trip. Were you running the AC? What highway speed were you doing?

On my 310 mile round trip, I...

Re: My opinion of Ranger MPG...

I found and bought a truck that I though would get the best mileage possible for a small truck but still have the utility of a truck. My 2.3L 5spd is averaging 25 MPG driving about 80% highway and...

Re: Clunk in my 2011 XLT supercab with 2.3L, 5sp

I and the dealer both have checked things like the exhaust system and spare. I have a X so no transfer case. One of the first things I suspected was the rear springs but the dealer lubed the spring...

Re: Clunk in my 2011 XLT supercab with 2.3L, 5sp

Both the bed mounts and cab mounts have been checked for tightness and the cab mount bushings have been lubed; no change.

You have the hard copy manual or on CD.

The fuel sloshing could be the...

Re: Clunk in my 2011 XLT supercab with 2.3L, 5sp

I kinda thought I explained myself in the OP. It is a clunk type noise (not a rattle) that happens when going over rough roads and I can also sometimes make it happen when aggressively letting out...

Clunk in my 2011 XLT supercab with 2.3L, 5sp

My 2011 has developed a clunk noise. It shows up while driving on patched up roads. I can also make it do the clunk after coming to a stop and then letting out the clutch. The dealer had the truck...

Re: 2011 Recall

I thought I was the only one. I hate the positioning of the blinker/multi switch.

Re: 2011 Recall

Sorry, I didn't mean to start a war about when the first oil change should be done but since it's already started; I'll put in my 2c.

It used to be recommended in owners manuals of the past to do...

Re: 2011 Recall

At 1000 miles, I took my 2011 in for one of the free oil changes I got as part of the deal when I bought it. They ran the vin and found it was one that would be included in the recall. This was...

Re: Can’t turn traction control all the way off on 2011?

So it is an issue with cleaning the tire treads? Where I live I don't have to deal with snow. In fact, this year I don't have to deal with mud either. We are in a record setting drought. The main...

Re: Can’t turn traction control all the way off on 2011?

The only situation I can see where it would be a hindrance is if you needed to spin the tires fast enough to clean the lugs of mud or such; and from LOTS of personal experience, most times that just...

Re: Can’t turn traction control all the way off on 2011?

I don't have limited slip either and that's my point. The traction control system made both wheels pull like limited slip would. To me, that's a good thing.

Re: Can’t turn traction control all the way off on 2011?

Can someone explain/give an example of a time traction control is bad off road.

I don't off road my Ranger and my 4X4 Ram doesn't have traction control (none of my former 4X4s had traction control...

Re: Whats ur real gas mileage? Mines CRAP!!!

2011 supercab xlt 4X2, 2.3, 5spd

Re: A towing Q...

Just remember, you can pull it with no problem. However, unless your trailer has brakes (most in that size range don't); stopping will be more difficult because of the weight of the tow vehicle.
