Thanks for the info, its just odd I called 3 different Ford dealerships and 2 said to use the dex/merc because its the "new regular mercon"? and one said mercon v.

In my haynes manual it states to use mercon V for the transmission fluid change.. but on the transfer case "mercon".

Should I use DEX/MERC or Mercon V...

I guess what I ment by tearing apart a junk car is for the hands on experience... I understand what you mean though, maybe a car to restore would be better to use after I learn things through books...

What diameter pipe are you running? Reason I ask is because I also ran straight pipes and it was no louder than my cherry bomb but at the time I used my stock 2.25 piping.. so I don't know how much...

Nah, didn't remove my bed bolts just went over them easy so if I need to ever remove them I can. They did get coated though, everything did. Yeah for $80.. can't go wrong.

I am not really sure what chalky look means, sorry.

I do hear that after a few years the UV rays get to it and it has a "dull/lighter" look.. but honestly, it doesn't concern me much.

For those on a poor budget (like myself) and don't have the money for Line-X. Go with Herculiner, this stuff is great. You have to do a good amount of prep work if you want it to come out real good...

I have tried both the flowmaster super 44 and a cherry bomb. They sound much better than stock.. like a low rumble but I want something mean. I do like the flowmaster mufflers which are the loudest?...
