I just did this on my 89 ranger you have to take the interior panel off but dont bother disconnecting any of the electronics. When you have the interior panel off and window rolled all the way down...

iv got a neighbor with two 5 foot bed boxes for 75$ each, they are white about 12 inches deep at the lowest point and have built in lock buttons with key. Id buy them but iv put 2much into my ranger...
