Re: Battery Light Stays On
UPDATE: With the engine off, the voltage reads 12.6v on the battery. With the engine running, it reads 14.6v so I assume the alternator is charging properly.
I replaced relay #14 in the power...

Battery Light Stays On
First, my alternator reading on the dash guage went to "L" and the battery light turned on. OK, checked the battery and with the engine running, was getting 12.4V. No evidence of being charged by...

Re: AC Problems
Researching my AC problem, some have said my issue might be the low pressure switch.
My system works great for about 5 min. Then the compressor stops engaging. It shuts down for about 3 to 5...

Re: AC Problems
Yes, I've been told the low pressure switch might be the problem. I plan to take it back to the mechanic that I paid to replace the condenser. For $500, it should be fixed.

AC Problems
Hello
Recently I paid $500 to get a new AC condenser and lines (leaking) and vacuumed with a recharge. AC works great so long as the compressor runs but that's the problem.
The AC compressor...

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger v6 Flex fuel 2WD. My A/C turns on right away but will run for about 5 min then shut down. The fan blows nicely but the cold stops at somewhere around 5 min. I can turn...

Re: Air Conditioner weirdness: What do you think?
My A/C will run nicely for 15 min then the air turns to ambient temps. I turn off the A/C for 5 min then back on. It will then run for 10 min or less. I have to repeat the turn off time and it...

Re: Air Conditioner weirdness: What do you think?
My A/C does the exact same thing, runs for 15 min then all I get is outside air. I turn it off for about 5 min then back on and it will cool again for another 10 min. Works great when it works.

Re: Is it possible to change the axle ratio without screwing up the emissions?
Yes, perhaps but I know of one guy that went from 21mpg to 34mpg by changing out his gears on the rear end. I'm willing to do the same thing if that meant a 10mpg increase. That essentially is a...

Re: Is it possible to change the axle ratio without screwing up the emissions?
I have a 2000 Ranger (v6) and I am very unhappy with the gas mileage. Seems to always get about 21mpg, or less. I have the extended cab with automatic transmission with Overdrive. However, when...
