I have narrowed my problem down to the same thing. I found out that it takes a special tool to dial it in properly.

First, make sure, that the wires are replaced properly.

Aim for the proper size. Keep it calibrated to the brain and transmission.

Go to your local boneyard and get a starter relay and a ign module. I'm guessing ignore module.

had been bogging down, backfiring, and stalling under drive conditions.
Replaced timing belt, muffler, alt, and battery for several different issues.

if you havn't figured it out yet, I just changed my core, and it is good now. I found out that I had been running with no pressure, as my hose clamps rusted out. Probably th original 1992 clamps...

Blew my belt not far from I-43, which is not far from I-94... must be something in the air...
Got mine going again yesterday, and finished it up last night.

I put my ratchet extension under the passenger frame , disconnected the two coils, and bumped my starter. I want to know which plug. You use to determine the compression stroke.

My IAC is closer to 125.00 I plugged it back in after a short while, and it seems to be acting better.

I just picked up a Mustang manifold, and the EGR pipe is good.
I don't paticularly need it, as I prefer to have my EGR blocked off.
