Re: Transmission Fluid Change?
I was talking to a Ford (dealer) guy the other day about Mercon V vs. Gear Oil. I told him I used Lucas to change the tranny fluid. He told me that I should have used Mercon V and that it was fine...

My shifting problems have been clearing up after changing the transmission fluid with Lucas gear oil.
Now it seems to only be notchy in 1st and sometimes in 2nd, and only when downshifting?

Ok, got'cha. The code is 2-7. I did some checking and it looks to be a problem with the side airbag idicator light. Some other guys had the same problem with a burnt out bulb and replaced it with a...

It flashed yesterday, today it is was staying on solid (or maybe I missed the flash this morning). Or are you saying it flashes, then goes solid?

Any ideas what this switch was that was buzzing, but went off with the turn signal on?
Also, I read that there is a clutch related sensor/switch under the driver dash too. I am...

One of the things that I don't understand about my ranger is; why is there no tachometer when it is a 5spd?
So I was wondering, is the engine setup for a tachometer hookup? I have heard that you...

Cool thanks Bob. That is a little more than I am capable of tackling, yet. And Gary makes a good point. I think I will focus on the positive side of my 2.5 for now, 25mpg. :P
