Re: Unable to do lifts on the 2011 Ranger XLT?!

From what I've read, it is the yaw and pitch sensors that can cause problems when the truck is modified with a higher centre of gravity. There are some lifted F150 truck owners complaining that...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread

Rustproofing/oil spray. Did mine earlier this year.

Re: coil spring spacers to lift front?

Unless your truck has shocks that have a comfort zone and control zones. Then it will ride like a tank since you've moved the resting position into one of the control zones.

Re: Beefing up my 2011

All these mods didn't wreak havoc with your roll/dynamic stability control system? Some other trucks' systems start to go crazy if you modify the vehicle too much, and somebody here had a dealer...

Re: please, use your warranty!

Minor things like adjustments or re & re I like to do myself, because the dealerships often don't do it to my standards, or mess something else up in the process.

Re: Numerous little ticks this thing has....

First thing I would do is make sure none of the old stereo wiring is shorting out on anything - make sure the ends of all the individual wires are covered with electrical tape, just to be sure.

Re: Lets see those Mazda B Series!

My front end is sticking up too high and she's filthy - LOL. Once I get that all sorted out this week, I'll try to get some glamour shots of Mo.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread

I feel your pain. But I bet you didn't have an idiot mechanic bend both inner tie rod ends when installing coils spacers, then order replacements from Mazda, giving them the VIN so they know the...

Re: The evolution of Mo

Got the kleenex dispenser from Walmart for a few bucks and covered the bottom with the 'hook' (rough) part of heavy duty velcro. If you push it on firmly and wiggle it around a bit, it will stick to...

Re: The evolution of Mo

I got my Belltechs a few days ago - they do look really nice. But before i put them in, I have to double-check my front coil springs... I think one of them has gone off-centre. Looks weird.

Then...

Re: 3" spindle lift problems with advancetrac on2011?

Thinking on this some more... The newer trucks with Advancetrac have yaw and pitch sensors, so maybe the higher centre of gravity causes the system to kick in prematurely during stressful maneuvers....

Re: 3" spindle lift problems with advancetrac on2011?

Nobody has said why it won't work? As far as I know, the traction control, roll stability control, and dynamic stability control, all just use the ABS system to apply the brakes to one or more...

Re: Will this damage my suspension?

I said 'essentially lengthened'.... I meant to imply that I have provided more drop for the suspension (like a longer shock would). :)

How can the wheel NOT move more than the coil  One...

Re: Will this damage my suspension?

Maybe I didn't explain very well how I used the washers on the shock... I have essentially lengthened my shock .75". The amount of thread sticking out of the top of the shock mount is .75" less than...

Re: Will this damage my suspension?

How would you explain the shocks being hard to compress from their new resting point if comfort/control zones is BS? I could push down on my front bumper and the suspension would not go down at...

Re: Will this damage my suspension?

I believe most of the ride quality problems I am noticing (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) is that the shocks have a 'comfort zone' where they are easy to move up and down when close to the...

Re: Will this damage my suspension?

OK - thanks.

Hmmm... So that will allow my front wheels an additional 2 inches or more of downward travel - I'm sure that will help the ride quality quite a bit as well.

Re: Will this damage my suspension?

Wouldn't longer shocks cause the problem you mentioned above? By placing the washers on the top of the shocks (against the underside of the shock mount), I have essentially lengthened my shocks by...

Re: Will this damage my suspension?

The shocks are connected near halfway along the lower control arm, so the wheel will move up and down more inches than the shock will. Hope that makes sense... I'm tired.

The main problem with...

Will this damage my suspension?

I installed coil spacers that lifted my front end 2 1/2 inches or so, and the truck rode like it had solid metal rods for shocks.

I added a 3/4 inch pile of washers to the top of the shocks to...

Why me? Why always me?!?!?

First it was my crappy tint job that I had to fight to have re-done. Then it was the guy who installed my coil spacers and managed to bend both inner tie rods... more arguing and days of...
