havent tried that yet. I know it is probrably something stupid like that, but its drivin me crazy. my kid took the truck ( & jumper cables ) for the night. I will try that tomorrow. thanks so much...

It sounds like a previous owner may have been in the process of installing fog or off-road lights. pull it out and see where the wires go

battery light goes out when engine turns over. have not tested voltage yet. i will get my meter out and test it tomorrow. thank u!

I had thought about the starter,cause it is original with 162k on it, but I think that it has something to do with that dome light not shutting off. I do appreciate your help though, i will not rule...

The battery only drains when it is not running. mostly over-night, but sometimes if I shut it off at gas station, it will need to be jump-started.

I have a 2001 ranger, 3.0 flex motor. The problem began a few weeks ago. battery dead every 2 days. Replaced battery, battery terminals, and alternator.figured problem would be solved. WRONG! Noticed...

"MYSTERY" vacuum line SOLVED!!

I found it!! The vacuum line connects to round vacuum canister under air induction box, which feeds air supply to EGR valve..Wasnt happening cause i had plugged the end with a bolt. ..Your site was...

Recently did an engine swap after blowin head gasket at 152k miles.Truck started right up and runs great! One problem though, on pass. side of engine, have vacuum lines coming from wiring...
