Re: Finally took some pics
Tell me about it. The previous owners didn't take very good care of the wheels. The center caps are all rusty, the clear coat is flaking off, and the metal is corroding underneith. So know I have...

It's been a couple month's since I bought my Ranger, and I finally got a chance to take some pictures. Too bad it was an overcast day. Here she is: '97, 5 speed, 4-banger.

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Replaced a leaky heater core diverter valve thingy, forgot to burp the coolant system, and whatched my temp guage bounce all over the place. D'oh! All better now though.

Re: Best small pickup?
I don't know about today's pickups, but the late 80's/early 90's Toyotas were pretty indestructable, until they rusted apart. I think Japanese quality has slipped marginally recently, but I'd...

Re: Engine will not heat
If your water pump is shot, you'll typically have overheating issues because the water is not circulating through the system properly. Try this: Next time you've run your truck a good 10-15...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
Got the windows tinted and put a lighted explorer sunvisor on the passenger side. Started looking into building a small sub enclosure to fit into the rear seat cubby-hole. Also, discovered that all...

Is that real or photoshopped? Looks a bit "unreal" to me.

Re: Mpg?
I'm only getting 21-22 in mixed driving. I've got a 5 speed with slightly oversized tires (currently 235/75-15, door sticker states that OEM tires were 215/70-14) I drive about 10 miles on the...

Re: Changing Spark Plugs/wires
I just did this two weekends ago and I also have a '97 with a 2.3. If you haven't installed the wires yet, I would return them and go to Advance Auto and pick up a set of Autolites, they already...

Most excellent! Thanks. I'll do this once the weather warms up. I didn't realize how easy it was to take the window out.

Due to location (far right on window), I tend to believe it's the window seal and...

Re: What did you do to your ranger today thread
I installed a pair of '99 Mustang seats, which by the way require the drilling of two entirely new holes to match up the front bolts. Now to find a center console...

Would this look stupid?
I've got a black 97 stepside and I want to tint my windows. Here's the issue: my summer car is tinted 5% and 20% back and sides, respectively, and at night, I can't see squat when I'm backing up. ...

The only time I've blocked out a plate is when I was trying to sell a Civic on Craigslist here around Detroit. Civics are candy to thieves around here. No use advertising the location of an...
